Rural Business Consultations
The GPA EDC's Business Advisory Centre provides
FREE Business Consultations, weekly by appointment, in all
Peterborough County Townships.

The Business Advisory Centre is a resource centre for
entrepreneurs and small business owners. Our professional
consultants advise business owners on key aspects of start-up
and maintaining successful operations. Whether you are
starting out or in the initial years of business, we can help.
The Business Advisory Centre can be of assistance if you are
looking for help with any of the following:
- Evaluating
your business idea
- Financing
sources
- Developing
a business plan
- Creating
a marketing strategy
- Understanding
your tax obligations
- Other
small business issues

Mentoring
Program
The Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation’s
Business Advisory Centre, in partnership with the Greater
Peterborough Chamber of Commerce and Peterborough Community
Futures Development Corporation, offers a Mentoring Program to
support the region’s business community. The program matches
experienced business people with owners/managers in the
Greater Peterborough Area.
Do
you Need a Mentor?
A mentor is someone with extensive business experience who can
serve as a confidante over an extended period of time. Mentors
are volunteers who wish to give back to their community by
sharing their business knowledge. Your relationship with a
mentor may be one of the most valuable business relationships
you develop.
The Mentoring Program is available to entrepreneurs who have
been operating their businesses for 2 or more years.
A one-time fee of $50 provides unlimited access to the
program.
Are
you Interested in Being a Mentor?
Do you have time, a continuing interest in business and
valuable experience to share?
The Mentoring Program seeks business people with at least 10
years of business experience to volunteer as mentors to
owners/managers, providing advice on a wide range of issues.
This program is an opportunity to contribute to the economic
well being of businesses in the Greater Peterborough
Area.

A volunteer Economic Development initiative in partnership

Summer Company™
Returning full time students between the ages of 15 and 29
submit their business plans for an opportunity to win an award
of up to $3,000 to run a summer business. Community Mentors
lend their expertise and assistance to help make the student
's "Summer Company" a success.
